Meeting logbook
This section preserves historical meeting records and governance-related notes for transparency.
Transparency means making decisions and their reasoning visible, not publishing every conversation that led to them.
Meeting records should normally focus on:
- what was decided
- who is responsible for follow-up
- what remains unresolved
Detailed transcripts or traditional minutes are not required unless they are useful for a particular meeting.
Network-wide decisions should have one clear and reliable place of record.
For the current documentation structure, the Docusaurus documentation and Logbook should be treated as the likely canonical governance record where appropriate.
Confidential or sensitive details should not be placed in public logs.
Governance Review outcomes should also be recorded in the Logbook.
A Governance Review record may be short and include:
- date
- participants or represented Stewardship Areas
- issues reviewed
- any changes proposed
- decisions made
- confirmation that no changes were required, where relevant
Historical Core Council logs
In the subdirectories you will find the logs of meetings that were historically held under the name Core Council.
These records remain available as part of the network's history and should not be rewritten retroactively.
Current terminology
The governance terminology of the Permaculture Network has evolved.
Where current documentation refers to roles or functions that were previously grouped under the Core Council, the updated terminology may include:
- Advisory Team for advisory, experience-based, and perspective-giving roles
- Network Circle for network-wide governance carried by active Stewardship Areas
- Projects and Stewardship Areas for work-based responsibility and decision-making
Historical documents may still use the older terms that were current at the time they were written.
