PermaHub Certification

The EuPN PermaHub certification / assurance is a human size approach to certify places where permaculture practices is happening.

Time required: 15 to 30 minutes

Requirements

  • Project and place with the category "Homestead" or "Farm"
  • One person who is responsible for the place must have a PDC
  • 2 events per year which are associated with the place

Process

  1. Before peer review
  2. The software checks for the requirements every month and marks eligible candidates
  3. An admin checks for the last certified PermaHub and connects the person responsible with the to be certified PermaHub
  4. Last certified PermaHub schedules a peer review with the to be certified PermaHub
  5. During peer review
    1. Check who holds the PDC and ask where, when and who was the main teacher
    2. Check the 2 events per year and let the to be assured place's representative explain to you what kind of events / workshops / courses they hold
    3. Check the fields used and those that haven't been used:
      1. Description -> check for the details written and ask according to the details given
      2. Open days -> are there any?
      3. Certified organic -> are they? If yes let them describe some details about the certification process
      4. Address -> check that the address is displayed on the map - that the place on the map is correct
      5. Contact details -> check if provided
      6. Social Media Links -> check if the links are working. If none are used aske why
      7. Volunteer Links -> check if volunteer platforms like Wwoof are used. If none are used ask why.
      8. Images -> if there are less than 5 images suggest to add more
  6. If all questions have been answered and there are no more open questions the process reverses - the to be certified PermaHub now checks the already certified PermaHub - Start from 5.1
  7. The session is concluded when both PermaHubs have assured each other.
  8. After the peer review
  9. The original certified PermaHub sends the certification details to the admin that contacted them in the first place
  10. The admin updates the PermaHub certification database
  11. The process starts from 1. again
